Marie Curie Cancer Care

Marie Curie LogoMarie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families. Your local Marie Curie Hospice actively promotes quality of life for people with cancer and provides support for their families. The services are completely free to patients. World class scientists at the Marie Curie Research Institute are investigating how cancer develops to find better ways of treating the disease in the future.

Runswick Bay Rescue Boat

RBRB

The Runswick Bay Rescue Boat (RBRB) is a charity which provides an inshore lifeboat service in the area around Runswick Bay on the North East coast of England. RBRB also provides training and education in maritime safety.

The RBRB crew and committee all give up their time voluntarily and the annual running costs are met entirely through charitable donations and fundraising events. Annual running costs for the charity are around £10,000 although can be substantially more in years where capital investment is required, for example, a new hull or engine. It costs over £1,000 to provide life saving kit for just one crew member.
